It's Like the Olympics Around Here!

I had no idea that so many countries were visiting U.S. blogs! My new Blog counter says that in the last 24 hours, people from Germany, Italy, Canada, Malaysia, Indonesia, South Africa, Hong Kong, Australia, and Singapore have viewed this very site! Hello to all of you!

I've been wondering all morning, "What they must think of Americans..." after reading all these personal diaries and political blogs and all the downright strange/disturbing sites out there. Not to mention the news in the papers and on television.

So here are a few questions for those of you that feel like answering:

What did you think of Americans before you started surfing these blogs? And have your ideas changed since?

Do you think that most Americans support George Bush? What do you personally think of George Bush?

For those of you who drive on the left side of the road: when someone is coming toward you in a narrow hallway, do you walk on the left? I've always wondered that. Americans seem to walk on the right.

I look forward to hearing your responses. It should be very enlightening.

And hello to you too. :o)
Although I must say...my opinion on Americans hasn't changed any since reading blogs. You are all people, right?
(Well most of you? *wink*)

Now, this is just my opinion, but I'll bet that an equal amount of diaries, polit blogs, and disturbing sites are out there that are not American. Given that out of 6.5 or so billion people, only 297 million are Americans, or 'USians', as one of my South American friends insisted the other day, it's a safe guess that they've been reading our blogs for a while now, since 1997 or so. Maybe even earlier.

Any idea why the sudden surge of supposed foreign interest in your blog? I'll wager that its probably a result of your discussions on semi-current topics, in this case, the Coretta King funeral. It's probably a good thing, unless you get some hard core republican in here, then you might have a few wars. Depends if the person just wants to talk or flame.

Well, they've probably been coming for awhile, like I said I just got my little blog counter day before yesterday. And it just figures that in the first 24 hours, they all show up, but not last night...

And I have been flamed. I wrote a blog about one soldier being flown home in a box and his parents, who were both retired military, were so upset they went to the media about it. WELL. It got picked up by 2 right-wing blogs and each sentence was picked apart, put on a stick and burned. Then they came here. Fun times.

But the next time it happens, at least I'll be able to tell if it is 12 different people, or the same 3 people over and over. mwahaha.

I saw that too. Disgusting. What a way to not only ignore death, but dance around the logistics of what to do after we've 'liberated' Iraq.

And for what it's worth, I don't see you as a zealot, quite the contrary, in fact. Otherwise, I wouldn't waste my time. Same goes for the other side. We need level headed people discussing solutions, I've had enough of robots repeating the same program over and over.

Well thanks for the compliment. I really appreciate responses from Republicans that show some thought and deference.

I've commented on a few right-wing blogs where the moderator has to approve before publishing it. Mine NEVER get posted. I really think they don't want a level-headed response from the other side, they want spitting and cussing and whining. Or they don't understand what I'm saying.

"What did you think of Americans before you started surfing these blogs? And have your ideas changed since?"

- Americans lover their burgers, big engines, and backyard BBQs. Americans are opinionated, and have a disregard for everything non-American. The French say "The more things change, the more they stay the same."

"Do you think that most Americans support George Bush? What do you personally think of George Bush?"

- Currently I think that most Americans don't support George Bush. Is not so much my opinion as the national polls on major media channels. Up to the last presidential Election, yes, most Americans (52% or so) supported G.W.

I think Bush Junior is brilliant. I think he's highly underrated by his opponents. He's perceived to be a stupid person due to his unrefined/slurred speech. The fact that he succeeded to stay in office for two terms testifies to his evil-genius. Evil-genius as in Hitler, Mussolini, Winston Churchill.

Also, I believe that George W. is the biggest gangster in the world. He's got the biggest guns, he’s not afraid to use them, and can screw with anybody any time. He can screw with anybody, but nobody can screw with him. If they do, they end up in the bottom of East River, or Abu-Gharib river wearing lead shoes.

Considering all of the above, I admire and despise him oh-so profoundly.

Well. First of all, your first paragraph is correct, except for the part about Americans hating everything non-American. That is not true. We love everything foreing because it makes one appear worldly and travelled.

Secondly, there is much evidence that voter fraud took place in more than one state. We have exit polling, where someone from a media organization asks voters as the leave the polling place how they voted. For years these numbers have been accurate and indicative of the final vote, because people, especially anonymous people, are PROUD of their candidate and proud to say that they voted for them.

But the last two elections have shown great disparity in the exit polls and the actual outcome. Testing of voting machines and demonstrations by low-grade hackers have shown that our voting machines are easily corrupted. Witnesses at polling places have also formally filed complaints of tampering.

So please don't think that 52% of this country voted for George W. Bush. It is unknown how many voted for him, but considering the huge numbers of votes for the opposite side in voting machine tests, it can be assumed that Bush earned far less than 52%.

Why are you changing my words. Hating is a different feel from "disregarding". For example, you are disregarding my words on your comment. That's different from hating me personally.

:)

Also, all conspiracy theories (as much as I love CTs) remain conspiracies. Unless proven in a court of law these remain useless theories. I am corrected in the sense that 52% of the electoral college voted for GW.

When the war in Iraq started the national polls showed that the majority of the American people approved of his work. This has recently changed for the first time during his presidency.

Love your blog by the way...

cheers,
